The
Catholic Diocese of Zomba has celebrated the Pontifical Missionary Union, World
Day of Consecrated Life and Presentation of the Lord, Child Jesus, at a
ceremony held at Zomba Cathedral.
The
Vicar General of the Diocese, Fr. Vincent Chilolo, who presided over the
celebrations, said Jesus Christ is the light of the world and Christians,
through their baptism, taped this light from Christ. He added that Christians
also need to be the light of the world by showing love and bringing hope to
those that are facing different problems.

He
further asked the faithful to pray for each other and protect their faith and
Christianity all the time from different situations that may shake them.
Towards
the end of the Eucharistic celebration, the Vicar General officially welcomed a
new religious congregation, called Carmelite Missionaries, who have just
arrived in the Diocese to help in evangelization work.
At
the function, different religious congregations were also given a platform to
share some information with regards to the process to be followed by those who
are being called by God to join them.
