The Catholic Diocese of Zomba says visionary Church groups are a catalyst for achieving a self-reliant and self-ministering Church in the Diocese.
Rt. Rev. Alfred Mateyu Chaima, Bishop of the Diocese, made the remarks at the Bishop’s House when a delegation of Catholic Women Association (CMA) from St. Anthony’s Thondwe parish visited and shared with him their three-year (2024-2026) Action Plan aimed at buying a coaster.
Besides sharing the Action Plan with the Local Ordinary, the delegation also wanted to express its appreciation to the Diocese for the support it rendered during the launch of the Action Plan on 18th February, 2024.

Bishop Chaima commended the women for being visionary and ambitious in their plans adding that their vision resonates well with the Diocese’s five-year (2024-2028) Strategic Plan whose overarching theme is ‘Ownership and Responsibility in Building a Self-reliant Church’.
The Bishop further encouraged the women to remain united and committed when implementing the project so that it can see the light of the day.
He continued by requesting them to ensure accountability and transparency in the management of all the proceeds or resources generated in the name of the project so that people can trust them.
Bishop Chaima also emphasized on the importance of putting God first by praying so that He can guide them throughout the period of the project implementation.
The Local Ordinary then assured the delegation that the Diocese will continue to support them in different ways.
