Bishop Chaima delighted with children’s participation on Epiphany Sunday

Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Zomba, Rt. Rev. Alfred Mateyu Chaima, has called upon children in the Diocese to continue shinning by actively participating in various Church activities.

Bishop Chaima made the call at St. Joseph-Sunuzi parish in the Diocese at this year’s Epiphany Sunday celebration.

The Bishop said that giving children a chance to participate in Church activities is the only way of creating a vibrant future Church and this should not be happening on Epiphany Sundays only because it is not enough.

“I am extremely delighted with your amazing performance at today’s liturgy and we promise to give you more of such opportunities in the Church. Do not look down upon yourselves, with God everything is possible,” continued Bishop Chaima.

He then thanked the parents for allowing their children to take part at this year’s Epiphany Sunday celebration.

Lastly, the Bishop reminded the faithful about the importance of planting trees as one way of trying to arrest the negative effects of climate change.

In his speech, the Pontifical Mission Societies-PMS Director in Zomba Diocese, Fr. Henry Chiwaya, thanked the Bishop for presiding over the function. He also thanked the Diocesan PMS animators for grooming the children when they were preparing for this big day.
